Whenever we start our day with math, we always begin gathering into our groups and start our group work. We usually start by discussing our lesson so we know how to do our individual work without much help. We think that talking to the people in our group instead of learning all by ourselves is better because if we do our work by ourselves, we will need help and we have to figure it out by ourselves.
After a few lessons in our chapter, we do review sheets to review what we were doing in the past few days to get us ready for the test. The best part about it is that we can learn without even noticing. We actually do have fun while we do all the math and discussion.
Our teacher, MJ, assigns our work, mark our review sheets, and walks around the classroom to see if we need her help. So by the end of the chapter, term or year, even in elementary school , we can say, "Wow, we learned a whole lot more than we thought we did."
